Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp

One of our favorite activities was hiking to Monkey Rock and spending some time climbing! If you look closely, you can almost make out the monkey face jutting out towards the left at the top of the rocks on the right side of the picture!
Baldy was our first REAL hike ever! This is the view (360 degrees) from the top!

The Great Boat Race and Talent Show

Just a couple fun things about our week in the mountains! We have two videos of the Great Boat Race - Ty placed 5th, Addison placed 2nd. Boats had to be made out of natural objects - our children chose little pine cones, so you can't actually see them in the race. The rules of the race were that if you got stuck, you could use a "nudge stick" to move it only after having counted "1 admiral, 2 admiral, 3 admiral." (Camp director Corbin Graber's rules!) Ty's boat was quite tricky to keep track of as you will see in the 8 and under division!

This clip shows Kim Schmidt of Maryland teaching Ben Goossen (Yes, Rep. Duane Goossen's son) and the Denner brothers how to do ballet which they put to use in a short number in which they danced to "The Bear Went Over the Mountain." Addison and her new friend Catie Little also participated in the Talent Show - Addi played a piano piece while Catie hula hooped!
